National Grid Receives National Arbor Day Foundation Environmental Award for Fifth Consecutive Year.



WESTBOROUGH, Mass. -- Massachusetts Electric, Nantucket Electric, Narragansett Electric and Granite State Electric earn honor for vegetation management

For the fifth year in a row, the National Arbor Day Foundation The National Arbor Day Foundation is the world's oldest and largest tree-planting organization.[1] Its million members plant millions of trees every year. The Tree Line USA program, sponsored by The National Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters The National Association of State Foresters (NASF) is a non-profit organization that represents the directors of all 50 State Forestry agencies, the eight United States territories, and the District of Columbia. , recognizes utilities that meet three requirements: a program of quality tree care, annual worker training in quality tree-care practices, and a tree planting and public education program.

The National Grid companies were among utilities nationwide honored with the Tree Line USA award on April 19 at the annual Trees and Utilities National Conference in Omaha, Neb.
