The National Farm-City Council, Inc., has elected its officers and new members to the organization's board of directors with Gene Hemphill, New Holland, Inc., New Holland, Pa., named as 2002 chairman. The council's executive committee consists of: Marcia Paterson, Milton Hershey School, Hershey, Pa., as vice chair; and Marsha Purcell, American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture, Park Ridge Park Ridge, city (1990 pop. 36,175), Cook co., NE Ill., a suburb adjacent to Chicago, on the Des Plaines River; inc. 1873. It is chiefly residential. Several national and international corporations have their headquarters in Park Ridge. Nearby is O'Hare International Airport., Ill., as secretary/treasurer; and Walter Armbruster, Farm Foundation, Oak Brook, Ill., as immediate past chair. Elected to two-year positions on the council's board of directors are: Marilyn Adams, Farm Safety 4 Just Kids, Earlham, Iowa; Lynn Henderson, Doane Agricultural Services Co., St. Louis; Robin Kinney, Minnesota Farm-City Committee, Mapleton, Minn.; Paul Till, Alabama Farmers Federation, Montgomery, Ala.; and Chris Sigurdson, Purdue University, West Lafayette West Lafayette, city (1990 pop. 25,907), Tippecanoe co., W Ind., a suburb of Lafayette, on the Wabash River; inc. 1924. A primarily residential city, it is the seat of Purdue Univ. Nearby is the Tippecanoe battlesite, where William Henry Harrison fought (1811) the Native American chief Tecumseh., Ind.
