SAVE YOUR ENVIRONMENT CONTEST WINNERS Pollution may threaten the environment, but teens who entered the "Save Your Environment" contest during National Engineers Week (see SW 2/7/00) are ready to clean it up! Using basic engineering principles, readers invented machines or developed a plan to solve Earth's major pollution problems. Entries were judged by representatives of the National Engineers Week, and for their ingenuity and creativity, 10 winning entries collected $100 each plus a one-year adj. 1. completing its life cycle within a year.
