Mettler has authored scores of books and articles on medical self-care and health promotion, including the Healthwise(R) for Life self-care guide for adults aged 50 and better, now in its fourth edition with over two million copies in distribution. She is a renowned authority on older adult health care issues.

A study conducted last year by NCOA revealed that nearly half (44 percent) of Americans age 65 and older describe the present as the best years of their lives," explained Mettler.
