National Commander awards: honor those who get jobs for veterans.

 and productive job makes all the difference in enhancing the lives of disabled veterans. It brings self-respect, pride in accomplishment and a sense that there is a full life with disability.

"It also takes people who are dedicated to placing veterans in jobs and companies that are willing and even enthusiastic to employ them," said National Service Director Randy Reese. "It is vital to disabled veterans and their families that employment specialists and employers put a great deal of effort into employing disabled veterans."

A select group of employment specialists and companies are being honored this year with the National Commander's Employment awards. The awards recognize the professional service and dedication to help veterans obtain and keep jobs exhibited by Disabled Veterans Outreach Outreach is an effort by an organization or group to connect its ideas or practices to the efforts of other organizations, groups, specific audiences or the general public.  Program Specialists, Local Veterans Employment Representatives and large and small employers.

The employment representatives and companies to be recognized with National Commander's Employment Awards at the 85th National Convention are listed at right.

"The outstanding employment professionals and employers help our nation recognize that veterans and disabled veterans are excellent employees," said Reese. "They are the standard that others should emulate em·u·late
