National Association of Realtors Installs New Officers for 2005.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Al Mansell, a Realtor(R) from Salt Lake City, was installed as 2005 president of the National Association of Realtors(R) at the association's Board of Directors meeting during the REALTORS(R) Conference & Expo here.

Mansell, a member of NAR's Board of Directors for 16 years, is CEO of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage (formerly Mansell & Associates) in Midvale, Utah, a full-service firm specializing in residential sales and brokerage with offices throughout Utah. A Realtor(R) since 1969, he has served NAR as vice president and liaison to committees and chaired NAR's Strategic Planning Committee in 1998. In 1992, he was NAR regional vice president for Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.

In 1990, Mansell was the president of the Utah Association of Realtors(R), and was the state's "Realtor(R) of the Year" in 1985. He served as president of the Salt Lake Board of Realtors(R) in 1983 and was "Realtor(R) of the Year" in 1987. Mansell is currently president of the Utah State Senate, an office he was elected to in 1983; he was elected to the state senate 1994.

Thomas M. Stevens, a Realtor(R) from Vienna, Va., is the 2005 president-elect. Stevens, a Realtor(R) since 1972, is senior vice president of NRT Inc. He was NAR regional vice president in 2001 and has chaired several NAR committees. He is past president of the Virginia Association of Realtors(R) and was state "Realtor(R) of the Year" in 1991.

Pat Vredevoogd, a Realtor(R) since 1971, is the 2005 first vice president. Vredevoogd, from Grand Rapids, Mich., is broker- owner of ASJ Realty, a residential real estate company in Grand Rapids. She was Fundraising Chair of the REALTORS(R) Political Action Committee in 2003 and regional vice president of Michigan and Ohio in 1997. She was president of the Michigan Association of Realtors(R) in 1995 and state "Realtor(R) of the Year" in 2002.

Mike Brodie, a Realtor(R) from Plano, Texas, is treasurer for the second year. Broker-owner of Keller Williams Realty, a residential real estate company in Plano, Brodie has been a Realtor(R) since 1973. He was 2003 vice chair of the NAR Finance Committee in 2003, and was 1992 president of the Council of Residential Specialists. Brodie served as president of the Texas Association of Realtors(R) in 1995.

Adorna O. Carroll, a Realtor from Berlin, Conn., is the 2005 vice president and liaison to committees. A Realtor(R) for 21 years, she is owner-partner of Realty 3 Carroll & Agostini in Berlin; she was president of the Connecticut Association of Realtors(R) in 1997. Monty D. Newman, a Realtor(R) from Hobbs, N.M., is vice president and liaison to government affairs. Broker- owner of Newman & Co. and owner of PMR, LLC, Real Estate Management Service, Newman was president of the Realtors(R) Association of New Mexico in 1995-96. He also serves as mayor of Hobbs.
