Ronald Greeno, MD, FCCP, has been recognized by The Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) for his contributions to the field of hospital medicine. Greeno received the award for Outstanding Service in Hospital Medicine. SHM, formerly the National Association of Inpatient Physicians (NAIP), is the premier U.S. medical society representing hospitalists. Greeno is a co-founder of Cogent Healthcare, one of the nation's premier inpatient care management companies, and was responsible for the development of the medical management model used by Cogent. Today, he serves as the company s chief medical officer, developing and managing Cogent's national network of hospitalists. Greeno also is co-medical director of the intensive care unit and co-director of respiratory medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles. He graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and completed a medical residency in internal medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
