National Archives Sponsors Workshop on Use of Federal Register.


ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 15, 1995--The National Archives National Archives, official depository for records of the U.S. federal government, established in 1934 by an act of Congress. Although displeasure concerning the method of keeping national records was voiced in Congress as early as 1810, the United States continued  will offer a public workshop on the use of the "Federal Register" on Wednesday, Sept. 20, in Atlanta, Ga. The workshop, titled "The Federal Register: What It Is and How to Use It" will be held from 9 a.m. to approximately noon in auditorium A, at the Centers for Disease Control, 1600 Clifton Rd., N.E., Atlanta, Ga. 30333.

As the official source of information on the policies, regulations and notices of the federal government, the "Federal Register" is of interest to all those affected by federal rules and polices. It is published by the Office of the Federal Register The Office of the Federal Register is an agency of the United States Government within the National Archives and Records Administration.

The Office publishes the Federal Register, Code of Federal Regulations, and United States Statutes at Large, among others.

Participants will learn how to obtain up-to-date regulatory information from the "Federal Register" and the "Code of Federal Regulations The New Deal program of legislation enacted during the administration of President franklin roosevelt established a large number of new federal agencies, which generated a shapeless and confusing mass of new regulations.
