NatWest's Selection of Tivoli Enterprise

NatWest Technology Services has selected Tivoli Enterprise to provide system, application and middleware Software that functions as a conversion or translation layer. It is also a consolidator and integrator. Custom-programmed middleware solutions have been developed for decades to enable one application to communicate with another that either runs on a different platform or comes from a  management. Providing IT services to the NatWest Group, NatWest Technology Services also runs the IT infrastructure for the entire NatWest Retail Banking Services network - one of the leading financial service businesses in the UK. The Tivoli Enterprise implementation, scheduled for completion in 1999, will include 1,750 remote locations and manage 3,000 servers and 50,000 workstations. NatWest will also use Tivoli Enterprise to help meet its IT security requirements and build an enterprise strength security policy for its distributed environments.

NatWest Retail Banking Services delivers a wide range of competitive and innovative products and services to individuals and small business customers through a number of channels including branches, telephone and a wide network of cash machines.

Tivoli Enterprise will manage the critical business applications and middleware for NatWest, including SAP R/3, IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  MQ-Series, Microsoft Exchange Messaging and groupware software for Windows from Microsoft. Exchange Server is an Internet-compliant e-mail system that runs under Windows NT/2000 and Windows Server 2003. It can be accessed by Web browsers, the Exchange client, versions of Outlook and the earlier Windows Inbox. , Internet and intranet access, as well as Oracle and Microsoft-SQL Server database environments.
