A team of Ear, Nose, and Throat specialists at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, under the auspices of Peter Ahnblad, MD, has recently developed an effective, safe, comfortable, and inexpensive drug-free solution for patients with sinus infections and nasal congestion. Nasaline, a nasal irrigation device that consists of a newly patented latex-free, silicone tip and a syringe, is used with a mixture of clean water and ordinary table salt. The tip is simply pressed against one nostril and, with the help of the syringe, the solution is pushed into the nose, washing out unwanted secretions and mucus through the other nostril.

This product has been proven to relieve ailments such as the stuffy nose and crusty secretions that often accompany a cold, the flu, allergies, or blocked nasal passages during pregnancy. The technique is also effective in washing away industrial dirt, dust, mold, and pollens and in moisturizing the nasal passages. Under a doctor's supervision and direction, the nasal irrigator can also be used as follow-up treatment after nasal and sinus surgery.

This new product from ENTpro AB, Sweden, is being introduced to the U.S. market by Camexco, Inc. Nasaline is available at retail pharmacies or directly from Camexco.
