NarrowCast Group secures $850,000 funding to publish IT Business Edge technology reports.

, a Louisville-based, privately held media company that publishes six IT Business Edge technology reports, has successfully secured $850,000 in its initial round of funding from a Louisville-based group of venture capitalists and individual investors that specialize in private equity finance. Under the company's current plan, this round of investment will see it to break-even.

Until now, the partners of NarrowCast Groups have funded the company themselves.

NarrowCast Group's executive team--led by CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Tom Cottingham--is the same group of publishing veterans that founded TechRepublic, the community website for IT professionals now owned by CNET (body) CNET - Centre national d'Etudes des Telecommunications. The French national telecommunications research centre at Lannion.  Networks (Nasdaq: CNET). The team has had extensive experience working with nearly every major technology information publishing company in the U.S., including the Gartner Group (company) Gartner Group - One of the biggest IT industry research firms.

NarrowCast's publishing model works to build customer databases of decision-makers of high-level business technology purchases. It then offers an array of premium information products and services to this audience, as well as "high-impact advertising and lead-generation programs to technology vendors."

Cottingham said, "We think the time is right to launch a new line of media products that meet the ever-changing needs of the 21st-century marketplace. We've already driven our subscriber base to the size that major advertisers like to see."
