Napier Environmental Technologies is pleased to announce that its technology for easy, safe and cost effective disposal of waste latex and water based paints is proving very successful with homeowners, the paint industry and government authorities.

Sold under the Bio-Wash brand name, Waste Paint Hardener (WPH) is available in a one-time use bag or in the new industrial pail size. The industrial size is capable of quickly hardening up to 107 gallons of waste or spilled latex paint and was introduced as a test late last year. Napier is seeing strong demand for the product from customers such as ICI, Home Depot and other companies dealing with large paint volumes. Old or spilled paint is an environmental risk and the sale of hundreds of millions of gallons of paint annually is adding to this problem.

WPH is rapidly becoming recognized as the solution to the enormous costs of disposing of this leftover paint. In a pilot project with a major North American city, savings of 60% per disposed gallon of paint were realized when using WPH. Due to the success of the program and the need to deal effectively with the risks and costs of environmental impact, the city is considering an advertising campaign on city buses to create more awareness for using WPH. This type of brand name exposure and endorsement helps Napier in its efforts to become recognized as a leader in providing environmentally sound products and building brand recognition with consumers.

Paint stores, local municipalities, counties and most recently the state of Maryland are contacting Napier to set up programs utilizing the WPH. As with Westchester County last year, households are informed that latex paint can be easily hardened with WPH and disposed of safely as household garbage. Homeowners are informed to buy WPH at local paint retailers, such as Home Depot, ICI, etc., thus further increasing brand name awareness and creating demand for all the other Bio-Wash brand products available in those stores. Sales of WPH are rapidly increasing and name exposure is resulting in securing new customers such as Hamilton Distribution, which will be stocking WPH this spring to sell into over 400 stores in the North Eastern US.

Sherwin Williams Paints, the largest paint company in the USA with over 2,700 stores has also listed WPH and has now given Napier a vendor number; this will make product purchases by their individual stores easier to facilitate and open the door for other Napier products to be sold through such stores.

WPH has a market anywhere paint is sold and is opening opportunities with companies such as K-mart and Sears. K-mart has agreed to test WPH in 100 stores with the intention of expanding it's distribution based on results.

The uniqueness of WPH hardener and its simple solution to a multi billion dollar problem is gaining a great deal of media attention from people such as Peter Whitley, editor of Sunset Magazine (Owned by Time/Warner/AOL) With readership upwards of 8 million; Sunset is more widely read than Time magazine in the western USA. An article, written by Mr. Whitely, discussing the merits of WPH will be featured in the April issue. Also Home and Garden TV's "Just ask Jon Eakes" show will also be demonstrating the use of WPH in a show on "what to do with household waste". The show will air in the next couple of weeks and broadcasted nationally on the highly popular Home and Garden channel.

The momentum seen this early in the season gives Napier an excellent opportunity to finalize new programs with some of the largest retailers. Retailers such as Home Depot, Lowes and others are becoming ever more focused on providing the consumer with environmentally safe products. Napier's Bio-Wash brand is quickly becoming recognized as the environmental choice.
