Napa Valley Wine Train Celebrates Fall Harvest and Octoberfest With a Culinary Bounty.


NAPA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 31, 1999--

Napa Valley Wine Train The Napa Valley Wine Train is operated by the Napa Valley Railroad (AAR reporting marks NVRR). The train is a privately operated excursion train that runs between Napa and St. Helena, California.  celebrates Octoberfest with special menu items on Thursday, October 7.

     October Events:

--   The Vintner's Vista Dome Car Luncheons -- Award-winning Executive
     Chef Patrick Finney prepares specially paired gourmet meals
     featuring such delicacies as Sonoma Foie Gras or Seared Rabbit
     Tenderloin wrapped in Pancetta followed by Organic Lettuces,
     Roast Poussin or Grilled Angus Filet Mignon. Featured Vintners
     personally mingle onboard to discuss insights into the
     intricacies of producing fine wines. The Vintner's Vista Dome
     Luncheon boards at 11 a.m. and departs at 11:30 a.m. Prices are
     $95 per person and include a four-course luncheon paired with
     wines, service charge, sales tax, and train fare.

     The following Vintner's Luncheons are scheduled in October:

     -- October 1:  S. Anderson Vineyard
     -- October 8:  Franciscan Estates
     -- October 15: Bayview Cellars
     -- October 22: Franus Wine Company
     -- October 29: Beringer Vineyards

--   Family Fun Night (October 8, 15, 22, 29) -- Up to two children
     (ages 3-12) per couple can ride for free in the Deli Car and
     receive a kids meal, movies and professional day care provided by
     the Wine Train. The cost is $75 per adult, which includes a
     four-course gourmet meal, children's meal, service charge, sales
     tax and train fare.

--   Murder Mystery Dinner Excursion (October 21) -- Now in its
     seventh season, this dinner excursion features actors in costumes
     from the 1900s who enact a murder mystery drama based largely on
     historical events from California's bygone years. The cost is $99
     per person, including a four-course gourmet dinner, Murder
     Mystery Theater, service charge, sales tax and train fare.

--   Champagne Brunch (Weekends) -- Enjoy a special Wine Country
     Brunch including a glass of chilled champagne and gourmet cuisine
     such as Smoked Pork Loin Benedict served on an English Muffin
     with a Poached Egg dressed with Hollandaise, accompanied by a
     Green Onion Asiago Potato Pancake and Honey-cured Bacon. The
     per-person price for brunch is $59.50, which includes a
     three-course meal, a glass of sparkling wine, service charge,
     sales tax and train fare.
