Nanto Bank Adopts Fujitsu's Contactless Palm Vein Authentication Technology.Tokyo, Japan, Nov 10, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Fujitsu announced on November 9 that Nanto Bank in Nara has adopted its contactless palm vein authentication technology and will begin offering a biometrics service to its consumer customers on December 19.With the aid of Fujitsu, the bank will issue a cash card embedded with an IC chip and equip its automated teller machines automated teller machine (ATM), device used by bank customers to process account transactions. Typically, a user inserts into the ATM a special plastic card that is encoded with information on a magnetic strip. (ATMs) with an authentication system The combination of authentication server and authenticator, which may be separate devices or both reside in the same unit such as an access point or network access server. The authentication server contains a database of user names, passwords and policies, and the authenticator physically based on Fujitsu's authentication technology. By authenticating customers twice, first with a PIN number and then palm vein, the system can increase the level of security to prevent crimes such as unauthorized withdrawal and credit card skimming.
