 on the ACEI Roll of Honor, and adding her name to the Book of Remembrances. Nancy was nominated for this highest mark of distinction by former ACEI President Shirley Raines. The Roll of Honor allows members to keep alive the memory of distinguished and accomplished individuals who have dedicated their careers to the betterment bet·ter·ment

Nancy will be remembered for her dedication to and work on behalf of the children of the world. Nancy's family requests that those who wish to honor her make memorial donations in her name to The Orpheum Children's Science Museum The Orpheum Children's Science Museum is an old Orpheum theater in downtown Champaign that was turned into a children's science museum. The Museum covers all of the entrance to the theater, and some adjoining space outside.  in Champaign, IL; The James D. and Nancy L. Quisenberry Scholarship Fund, Southern Illinois University Southern Illinois University, main campus at Carbondale; state supported; coeducational; est. 1869, opened 1874 as a normal school, renamed 1947. It has a center for archaeological investigation and a fisheries research laboratory. There is also a campus at Edwardsville. ; and the Urbana Rotary Club Charities. Nancy was honored with a memorial service on December 8, 2006, at Southern Illinois University Carbondale Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC but usually just referred to as SIU) is located in Carbondale, Illinois. The Carbondale campus is the flagship campus of the Southern Illinois University system, which includes SIU's smaller sister institution Southern Illinois , where she served on the faculty for more than 20 years, retiring in 1998 as Dean Emerita e·mer·i·ta

 of the College of Education. This celebration of Nancy's life featured colleagues and friends, who spoke of her numerous contributions in service to children, the field of childhood education, and teacher accreditation.

The Roll of Honor

To nominate an individual for inclusion on the ACEI Roll of Honor, please submit the following to ACEI Headquarters: a letter of intent, a completed recommendation form that includes a brief outline of the individual's services to children, a photograph for publication in the ACEI Exchange, and the individual's biography. After the documentation is received, the individual's name is presented to the Executive Board. If approved, the name of the person being memorialized is inscribed on the Roll of Honor, a framed parchment scroll that is prominently displayed at ACEI Headquarters. The outline of the individual's services to children is recorded in the Book of Remembrances and an announcement is made in the ACEI Exchange.
