Namibia Day observed at two solemn meetings at Headquarters

Two solemn meetings were held on 26 August in New York New York, state, United States

Thirty-two speakers called for Namibians to attain self-determination and independence without dealy, and 40 messages of solidarity with the people of Namibia were received from Heads of State and Government and other officials, United Nations agencies, non-governmental organizations and solidarity groups.

The Council is the legal Administering Authority for the Territory until independence.
