* RICHARD A. ASTA, CPA (Central Florida Chapter), was promoted to CEO of Dixon North America in Heathrow, Fla. He was also appointed to the Board of Directors of both Dixon North America and Dixon Latin America. Dixon manufacturers and markets a wide range of writing instruments, art materials and office products.

* ROBERT W. DAVIS, CAP (Austin Chapter), joined Computer Associates International Inc. in Islandia, N.Y., as Executive Vice President and CFO. CA delivers software and services across operations, security, storage, life cycle and service management to optimize the performance, reliability and efficiency of enterprise IT environments.

* GARY L. ELLIS, CPA (Twin Cities Chapter), was promoted to CFO of Medtronic Inc., a leading medical-technology company that provides lifelong solutions for people with chronic disease, based in Minneapolis.

* FRANK FRANKOWSKI, CPA (Philadelphia Chapter), has been appointed CFO for Airborne Systems Limited, the U.K.-based provider of parachute, aerial delivery and related systems, and aerospace engineering services. He has also been named to the company's Board of Directors. He'll be based at a company subsidiary, ParaFlite Inc., in Pennsauken, N.J.

* TERENCE J. GRIFFIN, CPA (Silicon Valley Chapter), was named CFO of Applied Imaging Corp, in San Jose, Calif. Applied Imaging is a supplier of automated imaging and image analysis systems for the detection and characterization of chromosomes and molecular markers ingenetics and cancer applications.

* ANITA PHILIPS (Twin Cities Chapter) was appointed Vice President and CFO of the global operations of Carlson Marketing Group in Minneapolis. A leader in relationship marketing, Carlson helps global Fortune 1000 clients increase their ROI by designing integrated marketing strategies.

* FRANK E. SMITH, CPA (Orange County Chapter), was named Executive Vice President and CFO of Manufacturers Bank, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. in Los Angeles.

* STEFFAN C. TOMLINSON (Silicon Valley Chapter) was promoted to CFO of Peribit Networks Inc., based in Santa Clara, Calif. Peribit is a leader in the network-optimization and application-delivery market.

* LOUIS G. VAN HORN, CPA (Kansas City Chapter), was appointed CFO for Store Financial Services LLC in Overland Park, Kan. Store Financial is a provider of gift-card programs to shopping malls in the U.S. and Canada.

* HARVEY A. WAGNER (Atlanta Chapter) was elected to the Board of Directors and will serve as the Chairman of the Audit Committee of FormFactor Inc., Livermore, Calif. Wagner is President & CEO of Quovadx Inc.
