Naked News will air on satellite television with an army of its own bare naked ladies stripping off while sounding off about the day's big issues.
In the show, each of the 12 female anchors begin their segment fully clad before gradually disrobing as they continue to speak.
Naked News will be broadcast at 10.30pm every night from August 16 on Get Lucky TV which can be accessed on Sky Digital. One of the show's anchors, 27-year-old Lily Kwan, demonstrated the stripping-while-you're-reading technique as photographers snapped her during a press conference to launch the show.
Afterwards, Kwan explained how she had given up university and decided to reply to an advert in the newspaper. Asked whether women would find it degrading, she said: 'Fair enough, I recognise some people will feel that way. But I think this is an empowering position.' She said there had been a lot of positive feedback from female viewers but added that stripping while reading the news had proved difficult at first. 'It required a certain amount of co-ordination and it was difficult.'
Samantha Page, aged 35, is the first British Naked News presenter. She has a first in psychology and zoology and holds a black belt in karate.
She said: 'We are not perfect women. We are normal women and viewers accept that we are no better than they are.'
