NYTVF and ION Television Announce Partnership on Newly Launched Screenplay Competition: "Act I: The ION Television Movie Contest".

Drama Screenwriters Will Be Given a Chance to Win Development Deal with ION Television

NEW YORK -- The New York Television Festival (NYTVF) and ION Television announce their partnership on a newly created screenplay writing competition monikered "Act I: The ION Television Movie Contest". This competition, which launches immediately and runs through November 30, offers drama screenwriters the opportunity to win a coveted development deal with the network. The announcement was jointly made by Leslie Chesloff, EVP, Programming, ION Media Networks and Terence Gray, NYTVF Founder.

It's no secret that there are many talented screenwriters in the creative community with compelling screenplays who are looking for that 'one big break'. "Act I: The ION Television Movie Contest" is a unique contest offering screenwriters a chance to have their original drama script developed into a new TV movie to air on the recently rebranded ION Television, a broadcast network that reaches over 96 million households. One winner is guaranteed a development deal with ION Television. To enter, writers must submit a movie treatment (5 to 10 pages) and the first act of their screenplay (20 to 40 pages).
