NYC Mayor calls for institutionalized abortion training. (Insider Report).

Republican Michael Bloomberg Michael Rubens Bloomberg (born 14 February 1942) is an American businessman, and the founder of Bloomberg L.P., currently serving as the Mayor of New York City. He was a general partner at Salomon Brothers before founding the financial software service company in 1981. , recently sworn in as mayor of New York City The Mayor of New York City is the head of the executive branch of the Government of New York City. The office administers all city services, public property, police and fire protection, most public agencies, and enforces all city and state laws within the city. , has promised "to make abortion a standard part of OB-GYN instruction in the city's hospitals," reported the January 9th Village Voice. If this promise is carried out, "the result will be groundbreaking. No other city is known to have institutionalized in·sti·tu·tion·al·ize

Lois Backus of the abortion training group "Medical Students for Choice" applauds Bloomberg's promise as "extremely brave." "No other publicly funded system has had the courage to say, 'We're going to spend our tax dollars pursuing this priority,' to my knowledge," she commented. Of course, such pro-abortion "courage" would be underwritten with tax money extracted from New York New York, state, United States

"He took [the training proposal] word-for-word directly from our materials," stated NARAL-NY executive director Kelli Conlin.

New York State Attorney General The New York State Attorney General is the chief legal officer of the State of New York. The office has been in existence in some form since 1626, under the Dutch colonial government of New York.  Elliot Spitzer has a similarly intimate relationship with NARAL. Spitzer created a taxpayer subsidized "reproductive rights unit" staffed by pro-abortion militants. In 1999, he sought, and eventually obtained, federal injunction to create a "bubble zone" around abortuaries, effectively banning pro-life side-walk counselors. Now Spitzer is taking the war against pro-life speech to New York's crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs), which offer troubled women alternatives to abortion.

On January 4th, Spitzer issued subpoenas to CPCs in Staten Island and Manhattan demanding detailed information about their services. Chris Slattery, founder of Expectant Mother Care, one of the targeted CPCs, told syndicated columnist Michelle Malkin that Spitzer's move "is a triple attack on the First Amendment -- on our freedom of assembly, religion, and speech."

"This is not an effort to protect he public," comments Malkin. "It's payback to the abortion monopoly. NARAL want government to crush growing competition by private, faith-based pregnancy center that are winning over women's hearts and saving babies' lives."
