In addition, NVIDIA's RIVA TNT The RIVA TNT, codenamed NV4, is a 2D, video, and 3D graphics accelerator chip for PCs that was manufactured by NVIDIA. It was released in late 1998 and cemented NVIDIA's reputation as a worthy rival within the developing consumer 3D graphics adapter industry. 2(TM) and RIVA TNT2 Ultra have also been selected as the only upgrade options to the standard NVIDIA Vanta offering. Compaq's Prosignia family of products are specifically designed to give small- and medium-sized business better choices for integrated technology solutions. The NVIDIA Vanta, RIVA TNT2 and RIVA TNT2 Ultra allow Compaq to deliver unmatched graphics performance, compatibility and quality at every price point, from the sub-$1,000 Prosignia 320 to the top-of-the-line Prosignia 330.

Based on the award-winning RIVA TNT2 architecture, the NVIDIA Vanta graphics processor is a low-cost graphics processor for entry-level add-in-card and motherboard solutions. NVIDIA is the first and only company to simultaneously offer products suited for the low-cost PC to the workstation PC. In addition, the NVIDIA family of graphics processors works with a single software driver, minimizing PC OEMs' design and test cycles and reducing time-to-market.

"Compaq Prosignia customers now have access to the PC industry's best graphics performance and quality at any price point and any configuration," said Jeff Fisher, vice president of sales at NVIDIA. "We are very pleased to be working with Compaq to deliver leading-edge solutions for the fast growing small and medium business desktop market."

The RIVA TNT2 architecture is NVIDIA's fourth-generation integrated 128-bit 3D processor. The TwiN Texel architecture, combined with per-pixel mip-mapping precision, offers an unprecedented fill rate of up to 350 million pixels-per-second -- twice as many as the nearest competitor.

The RIVA TNT2 meets all the requirements of the mainstream PC graphics market and Microsoft's PC 98, PC 99 and DirectX(R) 6.0 initiatives. In addition to DirectX support, the RIVA TNT2 provides full support for an OpenGL(R) ICD ICD International Classification of Diseases (of the World Health Organization); intrauterine contraceptive device.
