The combination of NVIDIA's revolutionary GPUs and AMD's AMD-760(TM) chipset with support for DDR memory provides end users with an ultra-high-performance platform capable of delivering next-generation PC graphics that incorporate massive geometric complexity, complex physics, artificial intelligence and lifelike character animation. Also, AMD Athlon processors in next-generation DDR platforms deliver cutting-edge performance at an affordable price.

"AMD is aggressively advancing the PC platform," said Dan Vivoli, senior vice president of marketing of NVIDIA. "The AMD Athlon processor and the DDR based AMD-760 chipset provide system platform that unleashes the power of our GPUs."

"AMD has worked closely with NVIDIA to bring high-performance 3D graphics capabilities to the PC platform," said Ned Finkle, director of AMD's Infrastructure Enablement Group. "NVIDIA is a leader in 3D graphics technology and the first to implement DDR memory for video and we are ecstatic to now offer users the AMD-760 chipset with DDR memory backed with full 4X AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) A high-speed 32-bit port from Intel for attaching a display adapter to a PC. It provides a direct connection between the card and memory, and only one AGP slot is on the motherboard.  support for an unparalleled gaming and Internet experience."

The AMD Athlon processor is an x86-compatible, seventh-generation design featuring a superpipelined, nine-issue superscalar A CPU architecture that allows more than one instruction to be executed in one clock cycle. See pipeline processing.
