NVID International, Inc. Finalizes North American Ionization Distribution Rights.CLEARWATER, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 2, 1998--NVID International, Inc. (OTCBB OTCBB See OTC Bulletin Board (OTCBB). :NVID NVID Normal Video ) announced Wednesday that it has finalized a formal agreement with EHPC EHPC Environmental Health Policy Committee Ltd. of London, England. This agreement provides NVID the manufacturing and distribution rights to a new generation of ionization equipment in North America. The system known as the Random Metering System (RMS) delivers silver and copper ions utilizing proprietary electrode technology as a method of water disinfection disinfection, n the process of destroying pathogenic organisms or rendering them inert. disinfection, full oral cavity, n a procedure used to reduce active periodontal disease, usually completed within a certain short time frame. . RMS is designed to be a cost effective alternative to halogens (chlorine) for disinfecting large volumes of water in either a single pass or re-circulation type water systems. The ions are metered into the process water by dosing pumps based upon flow rates which insures a controlled dosage of ions in parts per billion or parts per million parts per million mg/kg or ml/l; see ppm. of concentrate. David Larson, President of NVID International, Inc. stated, "The RMS ionization technology differs from conventional ionization technology because the system has the ability to treat large volumes of water where controlled ion levels are critical." Installation sites for this technology in England include Heathrow Airport (Queens Building) where all of the incoming water mains are treated to remove the bio-film from the piping distribution system for control of water-borne pathogens, including Legionella Legionella /Le·gion·el·la/ (le?jah-nel´ah) a genus of gram-negative, aerobic, rod-shaped bacteria (family Legionellaceae), normal inhabitants of lakes, streams, and moist soil; they have often been isolated from cooling-tower water, . Kew Gardens, an internationally known botanical center, employs 10 ionization units in the watering system to eliminate bio-film and control pythium, algae algae (ăl`jē) [plural of Lat. alga=seaweed], a large and diverse group of primarily aquatic plantlike organisms. These organisms were previously classified as a primitive subkingdom of the plant kingdom, the thallophytes (plants that , fungi and Legionella. The RMS technology treats all of the incoming water mains for bio-film removal and Legionella control at Charing Cross Hospital Charing Cross Hospital is a hospital in London, England. It was established in 1823 as the West London Infirmary, and was originally located in Villiers Street, near Charing Cross in the heart of the metropolis. , Royal Free Hospital and The Royal National Orthopedic Hospital Trust in London. Potential markets for the technology include agriculture, horticulture, municipal drinking water, residential/commercial point-of-entry and point-of-use drinking water systems, reverse osmosis systems, municipal sewage effluent, cooling towers, hospitals, pools/spas and decorative fountains. This press release contains certain forward-looking statements with respect to the future activities of the company. NVID is exploring potential corporate alliances in order to provide financial and operational resources necessary to exploit this opportunity.
