The club drew about 130 players on Sunday afternoons, most paying more than the standard $27 fee for a game, she said. But White said the games would pay out $250 to winners, and there were costs involved with renting the equipment.

Also lost is the chance for the club to create a computer lab for the youngsters, form more sports teams and provide other programs at the center that sees 400 children and teens daily during the school year and 500 daily during the summer months.

White said the club tries to consistently update its programs for the young people to keep them interested in participating, and it was hoped the bingo fund could help create some of the new programs.

The board of directors, which had approved the bingo game as a fund-raiser, will be working on other alternatives for the club, said White.

Sunday was the last day for the game that had already built a following of players in its short history.

``There were regulars,'' said White. ``We had fun with them.''
