NUEVO ENERGY COMPLETES THIRD CONSECUTIVE 3,000+ BOPD WELL
 AT NORTH FRISCO CITY FIELD
HOUSTON, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Nuevo Energy Company (NYSE: NEV) announced its fifth well and third consecutive 3,000+ barrels of oil per day (BOPD) test in the North Frisco City Field, Monroe County, Ala.
The No. 1 Paramount-McCall 30-13 flowed 3,060 BOPD and 3.9 million cubic feet of gas per day (MMCFD) from the Haynesville sand. At the time of the test, the well was producing with a flowing tubing pressure (FTP) of 1,555 psi on a 34/64-inch choke. TEST RESULTS AT NORTH FRISCO CITY FIELD
 Date Well Name BOPD MCFD
 8/15/92 Paramount-McCall 30-13 3,060 3,900
 7/22/92 Paramount-McCall 25-9 3,559 3,354

Currently, the Sigler 25-6 and McCall 25-7 are each producing 1,000 BOPD. The three newer wells are expected to commence production at 1,000 BOPD each this October upon completion of a processing plant. The field's prolific rates are due in part to the excellent reservoir characteristics with up to 28 percent porosity, two darcies permeability and a strong water drive. The field's sixth well is expected to be drilled in September 1992. Four additional well locations have been identified on the 1,654 acre lease.
Nuevo Energy holds a 30 percent working interest in the field. The other interest owners in the field include Howell Petroleum (NYSE: HWL) with 30 percent, RIMCO with 20 percent, GEDD Inc. and Shore Oil. The prospect was generated by Paramount Petroleum Co., which subsequently became a subsidiary of Nuevo. Torch Operating Company is the field operator.
Nuevo Energy is an independent oil and gas company primarily engaged in the production, development, exploration and acquisition of oil and gas properties.
