NUCORP TO CHANGE ITS NAME TO CAPSURE HOLDINGS CORP.
CHICAGO, April 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Nucorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: NUCO) announced today that its board of directors has approved a name change for the company, subject to shareholder approval. The company will seek such approval at its scheduled annual meeting on May 27, 1993. The new name, Capsure Holdings Corp., is intended to differentiate the company from its prior involvement in the oil and gas industry, the board said. It also reflects the company's intention to build on the base represented by its two operating subsidiaries: United Capitol Insurance Company and Western Surety Company. In conjunction with the name change, the company will apply for listing on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol CSH. Nucorp, an acquisition company, is involved primarily in specialty property and casualty insurance, through United Capitol Insurance Company and Western Surety Company. United Capitol is rated A minus (Excellent) by A.M. Best Company, and conducts business principally as an excess and surplus lines insurer in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Western Surety Company, a leading writer of small fidelity and non-contract surety bonds, is rated A plus (Superior) by A.M.
