Process control at a chemical plant is the classic example.  video transmission and archiving system, including uncompressed HDTV (High Definition TV) A set of digital television (DTV) standards that offer the highest resolution and sharpest picture. Although some HDTV sets are available in standard (rather square) screen sizes, the overwhelming majority of sets are wide screen, which eliminates  video. Named "i-Visto" (Internet video Video material obtained from the Internet. It may refer to streaming video from real time broadcasts, streaming archival material or downloading video files for watching later, all of which are viewed on the computer.  studio system for HDTV production), it is an enabling system that breaks new ground in providing several advantageous benefits of high-speed high-speed

i-Visto has two main functions: one is multi-rate video transmission over an IP network, including uncompressed HDTV with a transmission delay of less than one video frame's display time, and the other is video archiving to store and deliver uncompressed HDTV video.

By using NTT's i-Visto, video production sites will benefit from:

-- Media integration based on a single IP network: Until now,

broadcasters have had to build and manage different networks

that can adequately support various signal requirements

regularly used by the broadcasting industry such as HD-SDI See SDI. ,

SDI (1) (Serial Digital Interface) A physical interface widely used for transmitting digital video in various formats. For electrical transmission, it uses a high grade of coaxial cable and a single BNC connector with Teflon insulation. , voice, and control networks. With i-Visto, these users

can instead rely on a simple IP-based network that supports

multi-format, real-time video transmission. With i-Visto,

instead of building dedicated networks to support assorted

signals, they can now all be integrated on a single IP

network. Additionally, i-Visto's TCP/IP-based hardware and

software is easy to customize with built-in, flexible

programmability.

-- Ultra-high-speed transmission: i-Visto runs on a 2.4 Gbps,

ultra-high-speed transmission network that is fast enough to

handle high quality media.

-- Easy integration with existing services: As a result of its

IP-based technology, i-Visto is easy to integrate with general

i-Visto can connect to SONET carrier-class networks. This

Building a Foundation for High Quality Video Delivery

The expansion of optical fiber networks has provided people with easier access to ultra-high-speed networks and has enabled the delivery of high quality video materials from distant locations. It is expected that once optical IP networks extend to homes and offices, high quality video content can be delivered via the Internet not only for professional broadcasting purposes but also for home and business use. To meet this expected market demand, in 2001, NTT developed the first phase of a system for transmitting transmitting,
v to send and receive information, signals, and so on; allows a therapist to perceive a client's physical, emotional, and spiritual states.
1.5 Gbps uncompressed HDTV video over long distances via IP networks, using standard PCs. Since then, NTT's R&D has extended the system's functionality for its video transmission services. As a result of this work, NTT has successfully developed i-Visto as a comprehensive system for delivering high quality video materials.

The i-Visto system consists of five key components that are directly connected to an optical IP network with built-in, ultra-high-speed IP network interface cards. Based on NTT's MAPOS technology, the low-latency network runs at a line speed of 2.4 Gbps. i-Visto's key components and features include:

i-Visto media server:

This server has a capacity of up to 2 Tbyte to store and deliver 1.5 Gbps uncompressed HDTV video in real-time. A meta-data-based sophisticated video retrieval is also available when used with i-Visto's meta-data manager.

i-Visto meta-data manager:

This component enables a sophisticated retrieval of all the stored video scenes using meta-data compliant with TV-Anytime Forum specifications, resulting in retrieval based on user preferences.

i-Visto HDTV camera:

NTT has transformed its vision for an advanced, IP-enabled HDTV camera into the world's first IP direct-connection camera capable of handling uncompressed HDTV video transmission. It has a built-in 2.4 Gbps ultra-high-speed IP network interface, which enables its direct connection to an IP network, and it is equipped with remote control functions through the IP network.

i-Visto gateway:

This gateway provides protocol conversion between SDI and IP. It is able to handle 1.5 Gbps uncompressed HDTV video over an IP network with its built-in 2.4 Gbps ultra-high-speed network interface cards based on NTT's MAPOS technology.

i-Visto media-converter:

This converter (1) A device that changes one set of codes, modes, sequences or frequencies to a different set. See A/D converter.

(2) A device that changes current from 60Hz to 50Hz and vice versa.
supports HDTV/SDTV down-conversion and HDTV/preview down-conversion, so it eliminates the need for multiple, dedicated devices for each video format.

Additional components of the i-Visto system include an i-Visto manager that provides Web-based system management and an i-Visto switch, which has 87.04 Gbps switching capacity while transferring the IP packets containing the video signals.

NTT Network Innovation Laboratories together with NTT Network Service Systems Laboratories will showcase this new system at the National Association of Broadcasters conference in booth #SL2822 at the Las Vegas Convention Center The Las Vegas Convention Center is owned and operated by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and is located in Clark County, Nevada. It is one of the largest Convention centers in the world. At the end of 2004, the center had 3.  from April 7 to 10, 2003.

Availability

The release of each i-Visto component is scheduled for availability in Q3 of this year from NTT Advanced Technology, a subsidiary of NTT, as well as other partnering companies.
