Along with my donation, I wish to thank the DAV See WebDAV. for the assistance they gave me. My husband, Air Force Master Sgt. (Ret.) Bill Coats was diagnosed with lung cancer lung cancer, cancer that originates in the tissues of the lungs. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States in both men and women. Like other cancers, lung cancer occurs after repeated insults to the genetic material of the cell. and was denied disability for this as he missed a "deadline" for Vietnam era Vietnam Era is a term used by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs to classify veterans of the Vietnam War. The Vietnam Era is considered to have begun in 1964 and ended in 1975. The U.S. Congress, U.S. veterans by a few months. It was only through meeting a National Service Officer in a DAV Mobile Service Office in Shreveport Shreveport (shrēv`pôrt), city (1990 pop. 198,525), seat of Caddo parish, NW La., on the Red River near the Tex. and Ark. lines; inc. 1839. that the VA's decision to deny was reversed and full disability was granted. Unfortunately my husband died in March of 2002 before this was decided, but I am able to receive the full VA pension. I am very grateful to the DAV and I'm sure many others are also.
