NSF to provide certification for Brazilian bottled-water association. (Products & Services).


NSF International NSF International, formerly National Sanitation Foundation, is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization that develops standards and provides product certification and education in the field of public health and safety.  has signed an agreement with the Associacao Brasileira da Industria de Aguas Minerais (ABINAM) to provide certification services and audits for ABINAM's 240 Brazil-based bottled-water manufacturers. Brazil has 15 percent of the world's fresh water supply. Approximately 30 percent of that water is natural underground mineral water, the source for virtually all of the bottled water produced in Brazil.

ABINAM, founded 70 years ago and headquartered in Sao Paulo, is one of the oldest bottled-water associations in the world. NSF NSF - National Science Foundation  is the world leader in standards development, product certification Product certification or product qualification is the process of certifying that a certain product has passed performance and/or quality assurance tests or qualification requirements stipulated in regulations such as a building code and nationally accredited test standards, , education, and risk-management services for public health and safety. Its services to ABINAM will be provided under the NSF Bottled Water Certification Program. The program certifies that bottling facilities meet international Codex Alimentarius Codex Alimentarius
