NRPA members receive grants for trail development.


Three out of the five grant recipients from the Parks & Trails New York's Healthy Trails, Healthy People program are NRPA NRPA National Recreation and Park Association
NRPA Natural Resources Protective Association (Staten Island, NY)
NRPA Niagara Regional Police Association (Canada)
NRPA National Rifle and Pistol Association
 members. The selected trails from each community are:

* A West River/Lehigh Valley Trail in the Village of Rushville and the Town of Gorham in Ontario County Ontario County is the name of a county in New York, and two historic counties in the Canadian province of Ontario.

* Chenango Riverwalk/Hosbach Trail in the city and town of Norwich, Chenango County

"Our intent is to build the vision, constituencies and local commitment that are critical to the long-term success of trail projects. The projects we selected vary in terms of setting [rural, urban, and suburban], stage of development and geographic region of the state. What they all have in common is the ability to link people to places within their communities and thus provide opportunities for them to lead more physically active lives," said Parks & Trails New York New York, state, United States
