NRI forecasts that the Japanese nano-tech market will quantumleap from 942.1 billion yen ($8.1 bil) in 2004 to 5,649.8 billion yen ($48.7 bil) in 2010 and 23,061.2 billion yen ($198.8 bil) in 2015.

Three factors are attributed to the expansion of the market: (i) the existing market will grow through the use of nano technologies; (ii) the existing products will be replaced by nano-applied products; and (iii) new segments will emerge through commercial use of nano technologies.

NRI will publish the research report on August 1.
