NRA helps put anticrime initiative on Washington State ballot.

The NRA's successful CrimeStrike program has helped in the effort to gather the 180,000 signatures needed to put an anti-crime initiative on this fall's ballot in Washington state.

If it passes, Initiative 593 - labeled. "Three Strikes You're Out" - would put offenders convicted of three or more serious crimes away for life with no chance of probation or parole.

CrimeStrike helped Washington Citizens for Justice gamer a total of 220,000 signatures, far more than needed. The number of signatures gathered soared after an early June mailing by the NRA.
