NP Energy Corporation-Option Agreement.News Editors/Business Editors VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 6, 2004 Management of NP Energy Corporation announces that the company has entered into an Option Agreement to purchase the Tambillo group of claims located 200 kilometers northwest of Santiago, Chile Santiago, officially Santiago de Chile (Spanish: (helpinfo)), is the capital of Chile, and the center of its largest conurbation (Greater Santiago). . The Agreement calls for the payment of a one-time fee of $100,000 that gives NP Energy Corporation an option to purchase the property at any time during the next 12 months. This enables the company to evaluate the potential for expansion of the known reserves through further exploration and to also determine the actual production value of the indicated reserves. The property is comprised of 12 claims blocks totaling 2,100 hectares of which 1,400 hectares are classed by geological consultants as exploration and 700 hectares as production. The claims are easily accessible by road. The Tambillo project is located in an old well-known district of copper, gold and silver mining and the property itself has produced and shipped ore to ENAMI ENAMI Empresa Nacional de Mineria (National Mining Company; Chile) , the State-owned custom smelter and refinery. Ore values and assays from the past are of little value today as most of the work done previously was by hand mining which tends to rely on the existence of high-grade material. It is, however, encouraging that significant mining continued from 1920 to 1950, indicating the existence of substantial amounts of high-grade ore that was easily accessible by hand work. Smaller operations continue today and exploration development will expand on this. Recent sampling work done by geological consultants Sinergia Inversiones S.A., returned assays averaging from 5% to 10% copper and 4 grams of gold per ton. The sampling work was done in fracture and alteration zones of brecciated brec·ci·ate tr.v. brec·ci·at·ed, brec·ci·at·ing, brec·ci·ates To form (rock) into breccia. brec volcanic intrusive materials averaging from 3 to 15 meters in width and 800 to 2,000 meters in length. This property has the potential to host a large ore body that is expressed by the fracturing, intense alteration and mineralization observed. NP Energy Corporation will initiate a geological investigation of the area to determine an exploration program and verify the reserve calculations of the existing ore provided by the property owners and their consultants. When verified, the company will announce the estimated reserves of the project. The company intends to begin these work programs as soon as possible and will report results as they are obtained.
