NOVA SIX-MONTH GAS DELIVERIES UP MORE THAN 11 PERCENT OVER 1992

CALGARY, Alberta, July 26 /PRNewswire/ -- NOVA's Alberta Gas Transmission Division (AGTD) continues to transport record volumes through its natural gas pipeline delivery system. Natural gas shipments totaled 1,864 billion cubic feet (bcf) for the first six months of 1993, up 11.4 percent over the same period in 1992. On a daily basis, gas deliveries averaged 10.3 bcf, compared with 9.2 bcf in 1992. AGTD is a division of NOVA Corporation of Alberta.
"We're especially pleased to report record volumes considering our active maintenance and system upgrade efforts in recent months," said Eric Shelton, AGTD's vice president for customer service. "The upgrades carried out in April and May position us to continue to deliver growing volumes of gas."
The strong second-quarter volumes show that seasonal demand for natural gas is evening out. From January through March 1993, AGTD moved 959 bcf of gas through its system. From April through June, AGTD delivered 905 bcf. As recently as 1991, the difference between summer and previous winter flows was as high as 27 percent.
