NOTES : FOUR TRANSFERS CONCERN TAFT PRINCIPAL ASKS WHY PLAYERS DEPARTED FOR KENNEDY.Byline: Daily News Taft High School principal Ron Berz said Wednesday he is concerned about the departure of four Taft girls' basketball players, all of whom have filed applications to transfer to Kennedy. ``Why all four went to Kennedy is a big, big question,'' Berz said. Kennedy coach Donis Bailey said Wednesday that Taft All-City players Monia Calhoun and Vanessa Dunn, along with starter Rosa Ortiz and reserve Tammy Barber, have applied to attend Kennedy. They helped Taft win 20 of 21 games last season. Three of the players would be attending Kennedy under open enrollment. Bailey said she believes her program's success might be the reason for the players' arrival. Taft is without a coach after the resignation of Stephanie Blin v. t. & i. 1.
