The Castaic/Santa Clarita Valley Cougars are holding football/cheerleader signups for the upcoming year on June 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Castaic Sports Complex in Castaic.

Signups are for youths ages 11-12.

Soccer: Santa Clarita Elite soccer club is looking for a goalkeeper for their 13-and-under team.

Cheerleaders: The Santa Clarita Valley Athletic Association is holding its last signup for cheerleaders, junior cheerleaders and mascots on June 9.

Signups will be at Lamppost Pizza at Bouquet and Haskell Canyon in Saugus from 4 to 7 p.m..

Soccer: The Phoenix, an under-14 boys' soccer team, is looking for players for the 1998-99 season.

The team is affiliated with Valley United Soccer Club but practices exclusively in Santa Clarita.

Tryouts may be arranged on an individual basis.

Players must be born on or after Aug. 1, 1984.

The team is trained by Timo Scheuneman and coached by Steve Nathanson.
