NOTES: OPEN BASEBALL TRYOUTS SCHEDULED IN CASTAIC.

The Club Sliders baseball team is holding open tryouts for ages 12-15.

The tryouts are to take place at the Castaic Park Sports Complex on Aug. 1 starting at 8 a.m.

Basketball: The Santa Clarita Basketball Camp is scheduled for July 27-31 at College of the Canyons.

The camp will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.

The fee is $150.

The camp is for youths ages 6 through 16.

Baseball: The Jaeger Baseball Academy is conducting its fifth annual Arm Strength and Conditioning Camp this summer.

The date of the camps are Monday through Aug. 21 at Canyon High from 8:30 a.m. to noon and Aug. 3 through Aug. 21 at Pierce College from 4:30-7:45 p.m.

The camp will be conducted by Alan Jaeger.

Football: Canyon High football coach Larry Mohr is holding a summer youth football camp from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday at Canyon High.

Ages 8 to 13 may participate. The fee is $75, which includes T-shirt and shorts.

Summer camps: The Master's College is hosting a summer series of soccer, basketball and baseball camps.

The soccer camps are for girls and boys ages 5 to 15. They will be held Monday through Thursday, July 20-23, July 27-30 and Aug. 10-13 and directed by Jim Rickard, head coach of The Master's.

The basketball camps, run by head coach Bill Oates, are for boys and girls ages 7 to 16.

Directed by head coach Monte Brooks, the baseball camps are for boys ages 6 to 14 and will be staged Monday through Thursday and Aug. 3-6.

Baseball: The Santa Clarita Valley Bulldogs, a baseball team for boys with birthdates between Aug. 1, 1986, and July 31, 1987, will hold an open tryout Aug. 8 at 9 a.m. at the Castaic Sports Complex on Diamond 2.

The team is seeking pitchers, although tryouts are open to all players.

The team is scheduled to compete in the Field of Dreams tournament in Cooperstown, N.Y., in August.

Angling: The Community Services Department at College of the Canyons in Valencia is again offering its ``Introduction to Bass Fishing in Southern California'' course.

The class will be held Tuesdays from 6:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. beginning Tuesday and concluding Aug. 4.

The cost for the course is $59; seating is limited.

Baseball: College of the Canyons baseball coach Len Mohney is scheduled to run his first summer baseball camp.

Ages 8 to 16 are invited to sign up for the camp, to be held Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day, at the Valencia campus.

Cost is $125 per player.

Mohney and assistants Jim Ozella and Chris Cota are the instructors.

Volleyball: The Master's College is holding a volleyball camp for junior and senior high boys and girls from July 20-23 and July 27-30.

Basketball: The City of Santa Clarita Parks and Recreation department is holding a summer basketball camp at Canyon High.

The next session will be Monday through Thursday for children for kindergartners to fourth graders. It is run by Canyon High basketball coach Dave Humphreys.

Hockey: The Santa Clarita Roller Hockey Center is holding a youth and adult goalie clinic Sunday. Information: (805) 287-3333.
