Hart High senior quarterback Kyle Boller Kyle Bryan Boller (born June 17 1981 in Burbank, California) is an American football quarterback who plays for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Ravens in the first round of the 2003 NFL Draft out of California.  was selected the state Player of the Year by Cal-Hi Sports magazine.

Boller, a senior, passed for a state-record 4,841 yards. Other local players selected for the All-State team are receiver Jerry Owens Jerry Lee Owens (born on February 16, 1981 in Hollywood, California) is a Major League Baseball outfielder currently with the Chicago White Sox. He played most of the 2006 season with the AAA Charlotte Knights (Chicago White Sox affiliation) of the International League, but was  of Hart, tight end Mike Seidman of Westlake and defensive lineman Brian Montesanto of Royal.

Taft running back Marquis Brignac, the L.A. City Section Co-Player of the Year, was named second-team.

 and Keith Holt of Westlake, quarterbacks Casey Clausen Casey Clausen (born January 9, 1981) is a former American football player who played college football for the University of Tennessee. He took over the starting position from A.J. Suggs.  of Alemany and Matt Cassel of Chatsworth, running back Manuel White of Valencia, tight end Alex Holmes of Harvard-Westlake and kicker John Wall of Birmingham.

Lineman commits to CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge : It's the first senior class for football at Lancaster High, and the first player to make an oral commitment chose Cal State Northridge as his school.

Defensive lineman Nick Koufos alerted CSUN, in need of help on the line, he would attend the school in the fall.

Koufos, who is 6-foot-2, 278 pounds, was the top defensive lineman for an Eagles squad that finished 9-3. He was also being recruited by Sacramento State, Idaho State, Utah State and Fresno State.

There is the possibility he'll be joined by a pair of Lancaster teammates next season at CSUN. Linebacker Dominic Flax and cornerback Jason Jacobs are also being courted by CSUN.

The Matadors coaching staff can't comment on recruits until they sign a national letter of intent, which takes place in February.

Commitment: Quartz Hill volleyball player Angela Kepley has made an oral commitment to Southern Mississippi.

TV game: Harvard-Westlake's boys' basketball game against Chaminade next Tuesday will be televised by Fox Sports West 2 at 5 p.m.
