NOTES: COWPER STEPS DOWN AS COACH.

Jennifer Cowper resigned as the women's soccer coach at Moorpark College, athletic director John Keever said.

Cowper, who coached the team for one year, came within a game of leading the Raiders to the playoffs this past season. She was also a physical education instructor at the school.

Cowper is leaving because her fiance has accepted a job in Idaho.

An interim-coach will be hired for the fall and a full-time hire should be made sometime in the spring.

Baseball camp: The 1998 Lu Dawg Baseball Camps, directed by Cal Lutheran University head baseball coach Marty Slimak will be held this summer at CLU in Thousand Oaks.

There will be seven sessions. Each will run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The dates for the five-day camps are next Monday-Friday, July 13-17, July 20-24, July 27-31, Aug. 3-7, Aug. 10-14 and Aug. 17-21.

The camp is for youths ages 6-16.

The fee is $150 per player.

Basketball: Moorpark High girl's basketball coach Brent Milburn is offering a basketball camp for youth in grades four through 12.

The camp will be held at Moorpark High from July 6-8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily.

The fee is $80.

All proceeds go to the Moorpark High girls' basketball program.

Soccer: Soccer Direct is accepting applications for its summer camps held in Thousand Oaks, Camarillo and Westlake Village.

Full and half-day camps will be offered.

The camp runs from August 2-6.

Diving: Dive Thousand Oaks is recruiting for the 1998 summer diving season.

The openings are for boys ages 8-17.
