The Conejo Recreation and Park District Sports Office invites youth baseball coaches to attend the National Youth Sports Coaches Association certification clinics.

The video program covers psychology of coaching youth sports, maximizing athletic performance and how to organize a fun and interesting practice.

Coaches successfully completing the class are certified by NYSCA NYSCA New York State Council on the Arts
NYSCA New York State Chiropractic Association
NYSCA National Youth Sports Coaches Association
NYSCA New York School Construction Authority
 and receive membership benefits.

The clinics will be held Feb. 22 and March 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the Goebel Senior Adult Center in Thousand Oaks Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown. . Registration is taken at class.

Little League: Registration for the spring season continues every Saturday and Sunday in January from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Simi Valley Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  Little League complex on Royal Avenue and Darrah Street.

For the first time, Senior Division rules allow 16-year-olds (16 before July 31, 1999) to play senior level baseball.

Tryouts for 7-12-year-olds are scheduled for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the senior division (13-16) is scheduled for Feb. 6, 7. The season opens March 6.

Softball softball, variant of baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Invented (1888) in Chicago as an indoor game, it was at various times called indoor baseball, mush ball, playground ball, kitten ball, and, because it was also played by women, ladies' : The Conejo Recreation and Park District Sports Office is currently accepting applications for the Adult Spring/Summer Softball League.

Divisions offered are Men's Open, Women's Open, Men's Sunday, Men's Church, Men's Masters, Sunday and Wednesday Coed. All league are slo-pitch.

Each team plays a minimum of 13 games, with the top four teams in each division qualifying for the playoffs. The league begins March 5. Games are played at Thousand Oaks Community Park, Pepper Tree pepper tree: see sumac.  Playfield, Borchard Community Park and North Ranch Playfield.

Out-of-district and late in-district teams may register during walk-in registration beginning Monday at Crowley House/Sports Office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cost for in-district teams: Men's Sunday, $290, all other divisions are $399. Out-of-district teams: Men's Sunday, $348.00, all others $479.00.

Volleyball: The Conejo Recreation and Park District Sports Office is accepting applications for the Adult Winter/Spring Volleyball league.

The coed volleyball league plays Sunday and Wednesday evenings, Feb. 7 through May, at the Thousand Oaks and Bouchard community centers.
