According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation. in Valencia is offering ``Introduction to Bass Fishing in Southern California'' course at the north Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. County campus. The classes will be held Tuesday evenings from 6:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. beginning Feb. 2 and concluding Feb. 23. The instructor for this 12 hour course will be professional bass angler Ron Cervenka, who will cover a variety of topics, including seasonal and behavioral patterns and much more. The cost for the course is $59 and seating is limited. Reservations will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. Soccer: The Santa Clarita United Soccer Club is seeking players interested in training and playing for a Gold Level boys' under-14 team for the 1998-99 season. Those born on or after Aug. 1, 1984 are eligible.
