NOTEBOOK: WATCHING BROTHER TOUGH FOR WLADIMIR.

One person will have an unusually tough time watching the Lennox Lewis-Vitali Klitschko fight tonight at Staples Center This articlearticle or section has multiple issues:
* Its neutrality is disputed.
* It may contain original research or unverifiable claims.
* It does not cite any references or sources.

, was knocked out by Corrie Sanders Cornelius Johannes Sanders (born on January 7, 1966 in Pretoria, South Africa) is a South African boxer. Known for his fast hands and devastating left, Sanders is the third boxer from the African continent to become world Heavyweight champion, after fellow countrymen Gerrie  with one punch in the second round. Now, it's Wladimir's turn. The younger Klitschko said it will be much more difficult for him to watch Vitali fight Lewis than it would be to fight Lewis himself.

``In the ring, you feel nothing,'' Wladimir said. ``It's like a lion that wants to eat; you just do it. For this, for Vitali's fight, I'm very nervous. I'm confident. Vitali has gotten everything he's wanted in his life and he wants this. But I'm nervous.''

Wladimir, deemed the better fighter of the two brothers, was devastated dev·as·tate

2. To overwhelm; confound; stun: was devastated by the rude remark.
 - his only other loss came in 1998 - but has since come to terms with the setback.

``For the first two weeks, emotionally it was difficult,'' he said. ``It's cool now. It was a mistake, and I know what I have to change. Now, I'm more hungry than I was before the Sanders fight. I got lazy, I was bored. Sometimes when you lose, it helps you in the end.''

--Sanders' take: Sanders, a twice-beaten South African, suggested the Klitschkos might be somewhat overrated Overrated was a Horde World of Warcraft guild, based on the US Black Dragonflight Realm. On November 2 2006, the majority of the guild members were indefinitely banned from the game for use of (or directly benefiting from) a third-party "wall-hack", used to bypass content .

``I believe so,'' he said. ``A lot of people are making a big fuss over them. They're big and strong - and white. These days, everyone wants a great white heavyweight. They're big, strong but straight-up fighters. That's it.''

Will Vitali share Wladimir's fate?

``Look at the guys Vitali has fought,'' Sanders said. ``No big names. The only one is (Chris) Byrd, who has no punch, no power. In this fight, he'll be in there with a big puncher, a guy who knows how to fight. We'll see how good (Vitali) is then. I think Lennox is just too good for him. Will he knock him out? I believe so, yes.

``He's going to go straight at Lennox. He can't box, can't move around. That's how (Europeans) fight. And when he makes a mistake, he'll get caught.''

Sanders, who also is white, is a bit biased: He and Lewis are friends. Lewis called him with tips before Sanders fought Wladimir Klitschko and called him in the ring to congratulate him immediately afterward.

--Championship material: Lewis' last 13 bouts have been for at least one of the major heavyweight belts. He last fought in a nontitle bout in 1996, when he rallied to outpoint out·point

Lewis has fought less than half (21) of his 43 fights in the United States.

--End of era? Boxing fans shouldn't be surprised that Mike Tyson refused to fight on the card Saturday. Those close to him are saying he has no plans to fight again.

--Special show: A special edition of Rich Marotta's ``Neutral Corner'' radio talk show will be after tonight's Lewis-Klitschko fight on 690-AM and 1150-AM. It will include the postfight news conference live.
