Byline: Kevin Modesti Staff Writer

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas This article is about the city in Texas. For the city in Alberta, Canada, see Grande Prairie, Alberta.

Grand Prairie is a city in Dallas County (USA), with a significant overlap into Tarrant County, and a minor overlap into Ellis County.

Stone is the 41-year-old jeweler who made $8 worth of pick-six bets at the Time Out Lounge in Rapid City, S.D., before last year's Breeders' Cup races at Santa Anita Santa Anita may refer to:

Stone and friend Will Dixon were the holders of the only perfect ticket in the Breeders' Cup's so-called Ultra Pick 6.

``In many ways it's still a dream,'' Stone said.

Stone is spending Breeders' Cup week on the scene at Lone Star Park, where promoters are touting him as proof pick-six success isn't only for experts. (It's true, you can also win by being unspeakably lucky.)

Stone plans to play an $8 ticket again this year in the $2-minimum wager. He said he'll use Artie Schiller in the Mile, Speightstown and Kela in the Sprint, Ouija Board Ouija board

The only unconventional picks are Artie Schiller, a 12-1 shot, and Dynever, at 15-1.

Stone said he likes Artie Schiller because ``it looks like somebody is going to be coming from off the pace to win (the Mile).''

Stone liked Dynever's second-place finish in the Meadowlands Cup and the fact the colt has won a race at Lone Star Park.

Now that he can afford more, the $8 ticket won't be Stone's only stab.

``I'll play a larger one, too,'' Stone said.

--Bailey wins: Dallas native Jerry Bailey won Lone Star Park's nine-man International Jockey Championship in a three-race series Thursday afternoon. Bailey rode winners Proven Cure and Promise of War. Kieren Fallon was second.

--Back home: Santa Anita will open its gates at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and have live races before and after the Breeders' Cup simulcasts from Lone Star Park.

The first Santa Anita race is scheduled for 9:55 a.m., and the first Breeders' Cup race, the Distaff, is set for 10:20 a.m. Six Santa Anita races will follow the Breeders' Cup, including the featured Morvich Handicap.
