``He's a neat little horse,'' Hess said at his Hollywood Park barn this week. ``I think he'll run in the money. He's got his aches and pains, but he runs through them. Most of his problems are with his feet, which you can deal with.''

Hess, who claimed Love All the Way for owners James and Marcia Equils for $62,500 from trainer Jim Chapman James Louis "Jim" Chapman (born March 8, 1945 in Washington, D.C.) is an American business and political leader.  finished: Noble Threewitt, 89, has been saddling horses at Hollywood Park since the inaugural meeting in 1938. But that doesn't make losing a horse any easier, especially when it is a sentimental favorite like Old Topper.

Threewitt said he was ``devastated'' early this week to discover the 5- year-old had suffered a tendon injury.

``I don't think we'll try to race him anymore. The owner (Barbara Hunter) would rather sell him as a stallion than take a chance,'' Threewitt said.

Old Topper, a son of Gilded Time, has earnings of $655,861 with seven wins in 25 starts.

``It's an awful blow to me,'' Threewitt said. ``I don't think I've ever had a horse I was more fond of.
