NOT GUILTY PLEA ENTERED IN STABBING.

SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  - A 19-year-old man pleaded not guilty Monday in the gang-related slaying of a 19-year-old Canyon Country man.

Alonso was arrested Friday, and authorities say they have issued arrest warrants for two more suspects.

Sheriff's officials said a group of young men, plus two 14-year-old boys and one woman, lured Benito to a vacant parking lot where they stabbed him.

Benito's body was found about 1:20 a.m. the following day, lying on a curb on Golden Bush Way in the Greenbrier greenbrier: see smilax.  East Mobile Home Park. He managed to escape from a parking lot where a struggle ensued and to jump over a wall and into the mobile-home park where he sought help, officials said.

Preliminary hearings for the adults are scheduled for Monday and in April for the juveniles.
