 NORTHWEST AIRLINES ANNOUNCES REORGANIZATION IN SALES AND MARKETING
 ST. PAUL, Minn., Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Northwest Airlines announced today the reorganization of its Marketing and Sales Department into a new structure that more closely aligns the department with key business priorities and opportunities.
 Under the new structure, the Product Marketing Department is consolidated with the Marketing Programs Department.
 "The new structure helps us focus on consumer needs as well as market strategies," said Peter Hoult, senior vice president-marketing and sales. "The changes allow us to be even more attentive and effective to our customers."
 Ken Neher, vice president-marketing programs, expands his responsibilities in the department as vice president-marketing. Reporting to Neher are Rick Dow, director-trans-Pacific marketing; Steve Scott, director-domestic west marketing; Steve Weber, director- domestic east and trans-Atlantic marketing; Maureen Fraser, director- WorldPerks; Peter Brennan, director-partner marketing alliances; and Kimberly Popkin, director-database management and operations.
 Under the reorganization, the Marketing Systems Department will be consolidated with the Marketing and Sales Information Department. Lew Elsworthy will oversee the area as vice president-marketing and sales information systems.
 Reporting to Elsworthy on consumer research, customer trends and market analysis are Susan Goode, director-market research; Scott Anderson, director-distribution systems; and Sue Powers, director- marketing system development.
 The Sales Department will integrate sales programs and marketing strategies to enhance revenue opportunities. John Temple, previously vice president-product marketing, has been appointed vice president- sales. Reporting to Temple are Ross Kohlman, director-field sales; Dick Johnson, director-national sales; and Rick Binford, director-business and leisure group sales.
 Neher, Elsworthy and Temple report to Peter Hoult.
 Ray Foss, previously vice president-sales and marketing systems, has elected to leave the company Jan. 1 to pursue other business interests. He will continue to provide consulting services to Northwest in the sales and marketing area.
 Northwest is America's fourth-largest airline, and with its Northwest Airlink regional airline partners serves 200 cities in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Asia, Europe and Australia.
