NORTHROP GRUMMAN ISSUES CORRECTION TO WORK FORCE REDUCTION ANNOUNCEMENT

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: NOC) issued the following correction to its work force reduction announcement issued earlier today:
Due to an administrative reporting error, the planned reductions at the company's Hawthorne, Calif., site of the Electronics & Systems Integration Division by the end of 1995 will total 150 people, not the 500 originally reported.
This reduces the company's total planned work force reductions over the next 15 months to 8,650 from the 9,000 reported earlier today. The total number of planned reductions in California should now read 4,150 instead of 4,500. The planned reduction of 700 people in California by the end of this year is unchanged.
