NORTH ATLANTIC INDUSTRIES RECEIVES $18 MILLION ORDER ON NST CONTRACT
 HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- North Atlantic Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: NATL) today announced the receipt of another order for its Navy Standard Teleprinter (NST) AN/UGC-143A(v). The order, which has a value of $18 million, brings the year end backlog to $39 million. To date, orders received for NSTs total more than $75 million. North Atlantic received approval for full production of these teleprinters in late 1989. During the five-year contract period, which ends in June 1994, the company expects the NST program to account for over $120 million in revenues.
 The NST is the most technologically advanced teleprinter on the market. The unit has been fully approved by the Navy and is designed to function in any of four configurations. They include Receive Only (RO), Receive-Only with bulk memory storage, Keyboard Send the Receive (KSR) and the sophisticated Automatic Send and Receive (ASR) version.
 North Atlantic Industries designs and manufactures computer, computer peripheral, communications and instrumentation products for the government, military and aerospace industry customers. The company is a leading supplier of Tempest printers, MIL-SPEC and rugged teleprinters, computer systems and tape storage systems as well as electronic test and measurement instruments.
