NORTH AMERICA FREE TRADE AGREEMENT TO BE PUBLISHED IN
 U.S.-MEXICO FREE TRADE REPORTER
WASHINGTON, March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- A special report on the previously secret draft text of the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is being published by U.S.-Mexico Free Trade Reporter.
The draft text, which was obtained and released by a coalition of environmental, labor, and other groups opposed to the agreement, shows where the United States, Mexico, and Canadian negotiators had reached agreement -- and where they had failed to reach agreement, as of Feb. 21.
The text reveals the negotiating stances of the three countries on such key issues as rules of origin, market access, standards, intellectual property, and dispute settlement. It also shows where the negotiations are with respect to some specific industries, such as agriculture, financial services, textiles, and apparel.
The special report and the full text of the draft agreement, nearly 500 pages long, are available for $50 from U.S.- Mexico Free Trade Reporter, 1725 K Street, N.W., Suite 200, Washington, D.C., 20006; 202-785-8851, or 202-785-8589 (fax).
U.S.-Mexico Free Trade Reporter is a biweekly newsletter providing intensive coverage of the negotiations since they began in June 1991. It is edited by Scott Otteman and published by Thompson- Lesser Publishing, Inc.
