 NORSTAN SELLS ITS OMAHA AREA ROLM BUSINESS
 MAPLE GROVE, Minn., May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Norstan, Inc.


(NASDAQ: NRRD) announced today that it has reached agreement with LinTel Systems of Lincoln, Neb., to sell to LinTel its ROLM customer base in 35 counties of southeastern Nebraska including Douglas and Lancaster, and in the city of Council Bluffs, Iowa. This area generates less than 1 percent of Norstan's total revenues.
 Norstan will continue to have a sales and service office in Omaha that will focus its efforts on call transaction processing (CTP), videoconferencing and cabling services. These products include the Aspect CallCenter, the Octel voice messaging system, the CCS voice response unit and the Compression Labs, Inc. (CLI) videoconferencing equipment. Norstan's Central Region President, Don C. Bice said, "The CTP market is the fastest growing segment of the telecommunications business. Omaha is at the center of this emerging industry, and Norstan is pleased to offer a full range of CTP products to the companies in this area. Norstan will continue to sell ROLM Private Branch Exchanges (PBX) products in the balance of Nebraska and Iowa and in all, or parts of 16 other states and Canada."
 Norstan, Inc. headquartered in Maple Grove, Minn., is a full range communications company providing business telephone systems, videoconferencing equipment, long distance services and call transaction processing products and services. Norstan has 1,500 employees serving 10,000 customers which have 1,250,000 telephone ports.
